Pierz at Pequot Lakes

Preston Saehr went the distance on the mound and drove in two runs in leading Pierz to an 8-4 victory over Pequot Lakes in their first Granite Ridge matchup of the season.
The Patriots lead 2-0 after three innings, with starter Gus Bolz-Andolshek holding Pierz scoreless with only one hit. Things turned in the top of the fourth when the first three batters reached safely, setting the table for Danny Litke to float an opposite field triple down the right field line, putting the Pioneers up 3-2. Litke would later score to make it 4-2.
The offense continued to come through for Pierz as they scored another run in the fifth and three more in the sixth for their 8 runs. Pequot Lakes tallied one run in the bottom of the fourth and one in the sixth for the 8-4 final.
Saehr allowed 3 earned runs on seven hits with one walk, two hit batters and two strikeouts.
Bolz-Andolshek took the loss allowing the four runs in three innings. Owen Krueger gave up four runs in three innings of work as well.
Bo Woitalla finished 3-4 for the Pioneers and Litke 2-4. Zach Drown and Mason Otto each had two hits for the Patriots. Otto drove in two runs.
It is the fifth straight win in the series for Pierz, who improves to 2-2 (1-2 GRC), and sends Pequot Lakes to 1-2 (0-2).
