Pillager at New York Mills

For the third straight year, Pillager and New York Mills split their Park Region Conference meetings.
This year, they played them as a doubleheader.
Senior Finn Roder for New York Mills controlled the first game on the mound, only allowing one hit and two walks while striking out 9 in five innings of work. He was 1-2 with 3 runs at the plate as the Eagles took the first game 10-0 in 6 innings. Grady Roberts hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth for the game-clinching run, and Kolston Logfren went 3-4 with two RBI in the win. Elliott Imdieke took the loss for Pillager, with Nolan Beuning and Jack Featherston collecting the only two Huskies’ hits.
Game two was a different story for Pillager, as they sprayed 21 hits all over the field and won in a walk-off 11-10. Pillager led 9-3 after four innings when the New York Mills rally started. Trailing 9-6 entering the seventh inning, the Eagles loaded the bases with one out and Finn Roder stepped to the plate. On an 0-2 pitch, he crushed one over the right field fence, putting NYM up 10-9. After a leadoff pop-out, the Huskies’ Grant Grimsley connected for a single, stole second and scored on an Elliott Imdieke RBI Double. Featherston followed with a single to right, bringing home Imdieke for the walk-off win. Freshman Liam Soberg, despite giving up the grand slam, picked up his first varsity win. Bergen Roder took the loss for New York Mills. Grimsley, Imdieke and Brooks Brichacek all had four hits in the Huskies’ barrage.
Pillager snapped a 6-game losing skid to go to 7-10 (5-7 PRC) while New York Mills is not 10-6 (6-6 PRC).
