Recap

Senior Quarterback Christian Hooge completed six passes to six different receivers for 121 yards and two scores, plus ran for 53 yards and two scores as Pillager defeated Parkers Prairie 46-8.

The Huskies started the game with an 88-yard drive capped off by Hooge’s first td run from two yards out. After a stalled drive and a punt, Pillager scored on their next five offensive drives to build a 34-0 lead halfway through the third quarter. Hooge hit Andrew Brown for a 65-yard score, then ran in his second score of the night from six yards out as Pillager led 22-0 at the half.

To open the second half, Parkers Prairie fumbled the kickoff return and Pillager started at the Panthers’ 13 yard line. One play later, Hooge hit a wide open Joseph Putnam in the end zone. The next drive featured a fake punt where Grant Grimsley sprinted 58 yards to give the Huskies first and goal at the PP 3 yard line. An exhausted Grimsley got the call and finished the job to make it 34-0. After the Panthers drove for their only score, the Huskies answered with a 32 yard td from Derek Hoglin, and Grimsley capped off the night with a 34 yard touchdown run as he finished with 97 rushing yards and two scores on just four carries.

Pillager outgained Parkers Prairie 428-94 as they improve to 6-1 on the year, 5-1 in the Mid-NW Central Subdistrict. Parkers Prairie falls to 4-3 (3-3). The Huskies wrap up the regular season Wednesday night vs. New York Mills. Pregame is set for 5:30 on CASH 95.9.
