the Polk County West Thunder used a fast start to jump out for the early lead on their way to a 22-6 victory over the Bagley Flyers. The Thunder defense stopped the Flyers on 4th-down on the opening drive of the game before the offense drove the short feild for a Jace Motl Touchdown run for the early 8-0 lead. The Thunder offense would have a short field again on their next drive as the defense recovered a Flyer fumble at the 24-yard line, leading to an eventual 14-yard Touchdown catch by Will Zavoral on the first play of the second quarter for a 14-0 Thunder advantage. The score would remain the same until after halftime when both teams scored on their opening possession of the third quarter. The Thunder finished a 53-yard drive taking over six minutes of gametime with a fourth-down Touchdown catch of 1-yard by Greg Downs. The Flyers responded with a 65-yard drive capped by Logan Broten finding the endzone on the ground from three yards out for the 22-6 score with just over a minute left in the third quarter. Needing to regain possession of the football, the Flyer defense held strong and forced the Thunder into punting scenarios in the final quarter, however the Flyer offense would be stopped twice on fourth down inside the 30-yard line as they were unable to find the endzone again to threaten the Thunder lead.

With the victory the Polk County West Thunder improve to 4-5 and will advance to play the Mahnomen-Waubun Thunderbirds on Saturday. The win is also the 150th career victory for Thunder Head Coach Darrin Byklum. The Flyers end the season with a 4-5 record.
