Crosby-Ironton led by 12 at the half, while Proctor’s turnover total was higher than their poutine deficit. After the break, the visiting Rails flipped the script, opening up the 2nd half with a 21-3 run. The Rangers were able to take the lead back twice, but kept on being answered. Payton Rodberg nailed 2 late free throws (part of 10-10 from the line) and sealed the 4-point win with a late steal. The Rails got to the charity stripe more often in the first half, shooting 11-14 from the line in the 2nd half (all 3 misses down the stretch in the final 2 minutes) after 7-10 shooting in the first half. Crosby-Ironton shot just 1-4 from the line in the final 18 minutes after 8-16 in the first.

 

 

Four  Rails scored in double figures; two Rangers did, led by Tori Oehrlein’s 19 points in a double double .

Proctor will play their home opener Thursday vs. Moose Lake-Willow River.

Crosby-Ironton will look for a 1-1 record when they host Wadena-Deer Creek on Thursday.
