Rainy River MBB at Mesabi Range CC

The Rainy River men’s basketball team with a win last night at Mesabi Range would have wrapped up the North Division title.  The Voyageurs led 29-26 at the half but could not hold that lead as they lost 59-56.  Stephan Mereus led Rainy River with 15 points and Quelyn Nelson had a double double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.   The Voyageurs are now 12-1 in the division and 19-5 overall.  Central Lakes defeated Vermilion 86-59 and are now 11-2 in the division.  Rainy River and Central Lakes play on Saturday afternoon in Brainerd with the Voyageurs needed a win to take the championship outright.
