Goodridge, MN — The Goodridge/Grygla Chargers beat the Red Lake Warriors 60-47 in overtime on Tuesday night.

It was a sloppy game really all night long. A slow scoring start for both teams and the contributing factor, turnovers. It was just a 10-8 G/G lead with around 11 minutes to go in the first half. From that point it was a game of runs for the rest of the half. Goodridge/Grygla first with a 12-6 run to lead 22-14 and then a run from Red Lake of 8-0 to tie the game at 22-22. However, the Chargers would go on their own 8-0 run and would lead at halftime 30-22.

In the second half Goodridge/Grygla lead for nearly the entire 18 minutes. Holding onto a lead that fluctuated from two to six points. Red Lake though never went away taking a late lead 47-46. Goodridg/Grygla would tie the game 47-47 and we would go to overtime.

In the overtime period, it was all Goodridge/Grygla. Holding Red Lake scoreless and scoring all 13 points to win 60-47. With the win, Goodridge/Grygla is now 2-1 on the season and will play at Warren-Alvarado-Oslo on Friday. Red Lake drops to 0-2 and will be at home on Friday hosting Pine River-Backus.
