Red Lake at Polk County West (Climax)

Recap

Climax, MN – Polk County West brings their win streak up to 4 as they pick up the 30 point win on Homecoming.

Polk County West scored on 8 of their 9 drives in the first half. It was a balanced attack for the Thunder as 7 different players were able to find their way into the endzone, including the Homecoming King Alex Reitmeier.

Red Lake had the picture perfect start to the second half as on the first play of the half it was a 60 yard hook and ladder play were Jacob Anderson was able to spring down the sideline and into the endzone. They followed that up by recovering an onside kick, and then Isaac Jourdain lofted a deep ball up into a one handed catch from Keiran White that went for 31 yards. Three plays later, it was Jourdain again connecting with White for the 5 yard touchdown. The next drive, Red Lake’s Jacob Anderson got an interception, and then on the first play of their offensive drive, he caught a screen pass and scampered in for the 3rd straight touchdown for the Warriors from 35 yards out. That was when the magic would come to an end though.

Polk County West improves to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in Section 8A. They will be on the road next week against Mahnomen/Waubun.

Red Lake falls to 0-5 on the season and 0-3 in Section 8A. The Warriors will be at home next week when they take on Ada-Borup-West.
