VB Red Lake County Central at Climax-Fisher

It was a memorable Senior Night for the Climax-Fisher volleyball team Thursday, as the Knights defeated Red Lake County Central 3 sets to one in Fisher.  The scores were 17-25, 25-17, 25-13 and 25-18.

Red Lake County Central took the opening set thanks to 7 kills from Quinn Graves.  Climax-Fisher used a 9-1 run to break a 9-9 tie as the Knights took set two 25-17.  Set three went back and forth until the Knights scored 7 straight points and went on to win 25-23.

In set four, the Mustangs jumped to a 9-1 lead.  Climax-Fisher fought back to tie the set at 18-all.  Then the Knights got the final seven points of the match…with Teagan Johnson getting 2 kills and Kinley Korynta 2 aces…to win the set and match 25-18.

Brooklyn Hoffman had 8 kills to lead Climax-Fisher (11-12), with Claire Erickson getting 7 along with 3 aces, and 6 apiece for Lucy Paulsrud and Teagan Johnson.  The Knights also served 13 aces in the match.

Quinn Graves had 18 kills, one block and 2 aces for Red Lake County Central (4-14).  Alexa Chervestad added 9 kills and 4 aces.

Both teams return to action Monday; Red Lake County Central takes on Fertile-Beltrami in Plummer, while Climax-Fisher travels to Crookston.
