Fertile, MN — The Fertile-Beltrami Falcons are advancing to the quarterfinal round of the Section 8A Girls Basketball Tournament after bating the RLCC Mustangs 51-30 on Thursday night.

The Falcons were in control most of the night and held a 14 point lead with three minutes to go in the first half and took that same lead into the break 28-14. In the second half they were able to balloon their lead to as much as 21 points at one point and then the deficit hung around 20 points for the rest of the night as they would win 51-30.

Fertile-Beltrami will now face the #2 seed Fosston Greyhounds on Saturday in the Section Quarterfinals. They will be the second game of the day and will tip off at approximately 1:45 p.m. The Falcons and Greyhounds split their regular season matchups 1-1.
