Red Lake County Central at Mahnomen-Waubun

Recap

The Red Lake County Central Mustangs built a double digit lead in the first half, and then had to hang on to defeat the Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds.  The Mustangs dominated the boards all night long, but went cold shooting while Mahnomen Waubun was able to force RLCC into turnovers and then score off of the turnovers.  The Thunderbirds would tie the game at 37 in the 2nd half and then the game would remain tight the rest of the way until the final 2 minutes when RLCC was able to pull away off of made free throws and a couple of big shots.  RLCC starts the season at 1-0 while Mahnomen Waubun falls to 0-1.
