CLIMAX, MN – The Climax-Fisher Knights improved to 8-14 on the season with their 57-54 win over the Red Lake County Central Mustangs (5-14).

Climax-Fisher seventh grader Peyton Hoffman scored 15 of the team’s first 17 points in the game. Hoffman finished with a game high 36 points. Climax-Fisher junior Ava Larson returned to game action for the first time since March 2022 when she tore her ACL.

She had six points in her return, including two free throws to take the lead in the final 30 seconds. Knights eighth grader Teegan Johnson made two free throws to push the team’s lead to three with 6.6 seconds left.

For the Mustangs, senior Marissa Thomas led the team in scoring with 17 points. Mustangs senior Carlee Whalen had 11 points off the bench. Juniors Carly Vettleson and Jamie Flatgard both had six points.
