GBB Red Lake Falls at Mahnomen-Waubun

The Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds overcame cold shooting in the first half to out score Red Lake Falls in the 2nd half and come away with a 77-42 opening season win.  The Eagles rebounded and made some shots in the first half to build a 6 point lead late in the 1st half only to see Mahnomen Waubun go on a 4-0 run to end the half to go into the half time mark with Red Lake Falls leading 27-25.  The Thunderbirds offense and defense came to life in the 2nd half with the defense forcing 20 2nd half Eagle turnovers and the offense outscoring the Eagles 52-15 in the 2nd half, allowing Mahnomen Waubun to cruise to the win and open the season 1-0 while Red Lake Falls falls to 0-1.
