Edyn Hoornaert scored 17 points and Carrington’s defense forced 26 turnovers as the Cardinals won the third place game at the North Dakota Class A Region Tournament 52-41 Thursday at Mayville State University.

With the victory, Carrington (17-7) advances to play Valley City Saturday with the winner advancing to next week’s State Tournament.  This game will be played at Mayville State.

Madison Johnson added 13 points, nine rebounds and four steals for the Cardinals, with Kacie Rexin recording seven steals for Carrington.

Suri Gourd led Four Winds-Minnewaukan with 23 points and four steals.  The Lady Indians end the season with a 12-12 record.
