GBB Class A Region 2: Devils Lake 54, Carrington 39

Devils Lake advanced to the Class A Region 2 girls basketball title game thanks to a 54-39 victory over Carrington Tuesday night at Mayville State University.

The Firebirds forced 31 Carrington turnovers and held the Cardinals to 31% shooting from the field, as Devils Lake defeated Carrington for the third time this season.

Tylie Brodina had 17 points, five rebounds and four steals for the Firebirds, with Presley Brown adding ten points and five steals.

Kacie Rexin scored 11 points to lead Carrington.

Devils Lake (17-5) now meets Thompson Thursday night for the Region 2 championship and a berth in next week’s Class A State tournament.

Carrington (16-7) plays Four Winds-Minnewaukan in Thursday’s third place game…with the winner getting a chance to play for a place at State.
