Region 2 Girls Basketball Tournament – #3 Carrington vs #6 Hillsboro-Central Valley

Carrington’s defense forced 26 turnovers as the Cardinals defeated Hillsboro-Central Valley 59-39 Monday in the quarterfinals of the Class A Region 2 girls basketball tournament at Mayville State.

Isabel Wendel led Carrington with ten points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists. Three teammates each scored nine points.

Paige Cotton, Megan Ensign and Brynley Lessard scored ten points apiece for Hillsboro-Central Valley. The Burros end the year 8-14.

Carrington (16-6) now goes on to play second seed Devils Lake in the Region 2 semifinals Tuesday night at Mayville State.
