Region 2 Girls Basketball Tournament Semifinals

The Grafton Spoilers advanced to their 5th straight Region 2 championship game with a 65-57 victory over the MayPort-CG Patriots. In the first half both teams started slow from the floor and went into the second quarter with Grafton leading 8-3. Grafton worked the ball inside to increase their scoring and build a 27-13 halftime advantage. The Patriots would start to get their own shots to fall after halftime and trim the lead to four points in the third quarter before Grafton caught fire from behind the arc in the fourth quarter to rebuild the lead to double-digits. From there the Spoilers made free throws down the stretch on their way to the win. Grafton will face Thompson for the Region 2 Championship while MayPort-CG faces Hatton-Northwood in the Region 3rd Place Game.
