Region 2 Volleyball Tournament Championship – Thompson vs Grafton

The fourth seeded Thompson Tommies continued their high level of play from the end of the regular season all the way through the Region tournament, leading to a 3-1 win over the Grafton Spoilers for the Region Championship. The Tommies set the tone with aggressive play at the net and a 10-2 lead to start the first set. Grafton would settle in and the teams fought back and forth throughout the sets. The Tommies balanced hitting attack, six players with at least five kills each, kept the Spoiler defense from keying in and allowed the Tommies to win 25-21, 25-23, 19-25, 25-14. The Tommies will enter the state tournament with a 21-11-3 record and winners of 7 of their last 8 games since a regular season loss to Grafton. The Spoilers will end their year at 27-6-3 and graduate six seniors.
