Rock Ridge at Northern Lakes

Natalie Bergman netted a hat trick and Nola Kwiatkowski stopped 15 of 16 shots at Rock Ridge rolled out of Breezy Point with an 8-1 victory over the Northern Lakes Lightning.

Rock Ridge scored two minutes in on a power play, then added three more goals for a 4-0 lead in the first period before Jenna Storzinger scored the lone goal of the night for the Lightning.

Any thoughts of carrying over momentum into the second for Northern Lakes was quickly squashed as the Wolverines scored just 28 seconds into the period to regain a four goal advantage. Rock Ridge added another two in the period, including Bergman’s third, to go up 7-1 into the third. The Wolverines added the final tally twelve minutes into the final frame.

Shots on goal was 26-16 in favor of the Wolverines, who were 1-3 on the power play. The Lightning were 0-4 with the extra skater.

Rock Ridge moves to 3-0 to start the season. Northern Lakes falls to 0-2 and travels to Dassel-Cokato/Litchfield on Thursday.
