The Red Lake County Rebels jumped out to a 7-0 lead and held on to defeat East Grand Forks Sacred Heart 8-5 at Bemidji State University. The loss knocked the defending section champion Eagles out of the tournament. Will Gieseke struck out six and picked up the win on the mound for Red Lake County. The Rebels scored five runs in the second inning to build their 7-0 lead. Red Lake County will now face Win-E-Mac in the championship game on Thursday, June 5th at Bemidji State University (2:00 pm on 96.7 FM). The Patriots defeated the Rebels 7-4 in the semifinals of the tournament on Saturday. Red Lake County improves to 20-5 overall while Sacred Heart ends their season at 17-7.
