Sartell at Northern Lakes

Landen Cartie scored twice, including the game-winner in overtime as the Northern Lakes Lightning repeated as Section 6A Champions with a 3-2 win over top-seeded Sartell in the sold out Dave Torrey Arena in St. Cloud.

Sam Suja stopped 38 of the Sabers’ 40 shots which helped Northern Lakes avenge a 3-2 regular season loss.

Sartell lead 1-0 after the first period. Cartie tied the game early in the second, but after a Lightning penalty shortly after, the Sabers scored again to quickly grab the lead back. Sartell lead 2-1 after two.

Cartie assisted on a Parker Fulton goal 8:55 into the third to tie the game and send it to overtime.

The Lightning are 17-10-1 as they prepare for the state quarterfinals Wednesday in St. Paul. Sartell finished their season at 24-4.
