SB Ada-Borup-West vs Norman Co East/Ulen-Hitterdal

Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal used a couple of big innings to defeat the Ada-Borup-West softball team 15-1 in 5 innings Tuesday in Twin Valley.

After scoring a run in the first inning, the Titans added 8 more in the second inning as 12 players batted.  Alissa Anderson had 2 rbi singles in the inning, while Emmy Engen had a 2 run single.

In the third inning, ABW got on the board with an rbi single by Adeliza Bitker.  The Titans responded by batting around and scoring 5 more runs.  A bases loaded double by Bella Madson was the big hit of that inning.

NCE/U-H finished the scoring with a single run in the fourth on Madelyn Walstrom’s rbi single.

Makenzi Juarez led the Titans offense, going 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored and a run batted in.  Alissa Anderson was 3 for 3 with 3 rbi.  Izzy Ruud was 2 for 3 with 2 rbi.

Ada-Borup-West managed just 3 hits on the day; one each by Avery Johnson, Bitker and Lacey Scherfenberg.

Olivia Theis was the winning pitcher for NCE/U-H (5-3); in 3 innings, she allowed 2 hits and 1 run with 2 walks and a strikeout.  Izzy Ruud threw 2 scoreless innings, giving up 1 hit and a walk with 1 strikeout.

Ellidi Dahl took the loss for ABW (1-3).  In 2 1/3 innings, she gave up 12 hits, 14 runs (10 earned), with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts.

NCE/U-H plays at Thief River Falls on Thursday.  Ada-Borup-West is off until next Tuesday, when the Cougars travel to Lake Park-Audubon.
