Bagley, MN — The Bagley Flyers beat the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears 13-0 in their season open Tuesday afternoon and also Clearbrook-Gonvick’s inaugural game as a softball program.

Bagley scored 2 runs on 0 hits in the first inning of play which was mostly thanks to some mental miscues of Clearbrook-Gonvick that Bagley was able to take advantage of. The Flyers took a more aggressive approach at the plate going into the bottom of the third as it was still 2-0 at that point. However, in Flyers half of the third, they would bat around and then some scoring 7 runs on 7 hits and making it 9-0. The Flyers were well in control heading into the fourth inning but they would tack on 4 more runs to put the 10-run rule in effect and win 13-0 in 5 innings.

Bagley is 1-0 to start the season and will play at Red Lake County Central on Friday. Clearbrook-Gonvick begins their inaugural season 0-1 and will host Blackduck on Thursday.
