Sec 6 9-player FB NCE-UH vs Clearbrook-Gonvick
Recap
The Bears jumped out to an early advantage driving methodically down the field on the power of their rushing attack, ending with a 38 yard Touchdown run from Avery Ostenaa before the Titans would respond in just 1 play, as Hayden Haspel would break free of a pair of sack attempts and find Reese Krabbenhoft at the 1st down marker with open field behind him as he turned it up field and scored a 71 yard Touchdown to answer.
That would be the end of the offensive fireworks from Norman County-East/Ulen Hitterdal however as the Bears defense got back to what they’ve been doing for most of the season which is find the best player on the other team and shut them down. Asher Flaten who had cruised most of the year to the tune of 1,120 rushing yards in 8 regular season games and averaged 6.9 yards per carry was held to just 34 yards on the game and forced the Titans to look elsewhere for offense.
In the 2nd half the Titans would get QB Hayden Haspel involved in the running game to find some success, 11 carries for 62 yards worth of it, and would find themselves back in the game with the score 26-14 with 8:37 left to play in the 4th quarter. However the Clearbrook-Gonvick offense would then put together a masterclass if ball control offense eating up 7 and a half minutes with their ensuing drive.
That drive would however end in a fumble giving the Titans some life, a punt soon followed however and with just under 5 minutes in the game, the Bears would seal the win with a final Touchdown to give them the 32-14 lead that would also serve as the final score.
