Section 6A-N Battle Lake at Ada-Borup-West

The defense of the Ada-Borup-West Cougars allowed them to transition into offense during a key first-half run in their 71-50 victory over the Battle Lake Battlers. After the Battlers took a 20-17 lead nearing seven minutes remaining in the first half the Cougar defense forced turnovers that allowed them to run in transition to pick up points and end the half on  a 20-6 run that put them ahead by eleven at 37-26 at halftime. The lead would grow in the second half as the Battler offense couldn’t get shots to fall and the Cougar advantage in rebounding kept the Battlers from getting second chances at scoring. The Cougars advance to the 6A North sub-Section Semifinals where they will face Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Saturday in Perham.
