Section 8A-E Fosston at Blackduck

Senior Bella Bloom recorded 27 kills as the Blackduck Drakes overcame a furious rally from Fosston and beat the Greyhounds 3-2 (26-24, 25-12, 18-25, 22-25 & 17-15). The Drakes won the first two sets but Fosston forced a fifth set by overcoming a 20-13 deficit in the fourth set to win 25-22. Brielle Duppong led Fosston with 14 kills as the Greyhounds end their season at 8-17. Ava Hayes added 11 kills and 4 service aces for Fosston with Hatty Quam adding 9 kills for the Greyhounds. Kia Dodd had 12 kills and 4 service aces for Blackduck as the Drakes improve to 19-5 overall. Blackduck will play at Fertile-Beltrami on Friday in the Section 8A Quarterfinals (96.7 FM). The Greyhounds knocked the Drakes out of the Section 8A Tournament in the same round last year before losing at Fertile-Beltrami. Blackduck had 14 service aces while Fosston had 13 aces at the service line.
