Section 8AA Semifinal Pelican Rapids vs Hawley

Pelican Rapids is moving on to the Minnesota Section 8AA Girls Basketball Sectional championship with a 60-53 overtime win over Hawley on Wednesday night.

Pelican Rapids overcame a 38-18 deficit with 15 minutes remaining in the second half to force overtime at 51 apiece with an Anna Roisum field goal.

Morgan Korf scored 20 points and went 11-12 from the free-throw line while Ellie Welch added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Vikings. Pelican Rapids (25-3 overall) will play Perham in the championship on Friday at 7 p.m. Perham defeated Pelican Rapids by five points in both meetings this season.

Ingrid Rustad had 17 points and 4 three-pointers as Hawley dropped to 15-12 on the season.
