Fargo, ND — The Kittson County Central Bearcats were crowned the champions of Section 8 9-Player Football on Thursday after their 22-14 win over Stephen/Argyle.

KCC opened up the game with a 4-minute 60 yard drive capped off by a 17 yard TD Pass from Eli Peterson to Eli Muir to take the 8-0 lead. Stephen/Argyle would punt on their first offensive possession but would also force a KCC punt in an attempt to tie the game. The Storm would have the football for the next 7 minutes and tied the game at 8-8 after a 1-yard Shay Setterholm QB sneak for a touchdown. With plenty of time left in the half Eli Peterson found Kellen Johnson for a 42-yard touchdown to take a15-8 lead with 4:21 to play. The Storm would then march their offensive all the way down to the 1/2 yard line facing a 4th and goal. The KCC defense would turn the Storm away to take a 15-8 lead into the locker room.

Stephen/Argyle punted twice to open the second half. And on their second punt, Eli Muir for KCC would return it 77 yards for a touchdown to take the 22-8 lead. Stephen/Argyle would punt again before cutting back into the deficit with a 1-yard TD pass to Anders Thompson to make it 22-14. KCC would have multiple opportunities to put the game away but they eventually gave Stephen/Argyle the football with just over a minute to play. The Storm would march the ball to midfield before losing a fumble that KCC would jump on to seal the 22-14 victory.

Kittson County Central will take a 10-0 record into the State Playoffs.
