Devils Lake vs Thompson – Division A State Girls Basketball Tournament

MINOT, ND – The Thompson Tommies picked up a 74-63 win over Devils Lake in the North Dakota State A girls basketball semifinals on Friday night.
Thompson shot 10-of-17 from the three-point line and Kya Hurst set a Division A State Tournament single game record with 5 three-pointers. Hurst finished with 22 points and Addision Sage added 26 points and 7 assists.
The Tommies will play Valley City in the championship game on Saturday at 5 p.m. Thompson and Valley City are looking for their first state girls basketball title in program history. Thompson last made the championship game in 2023 in Class B and Valley City’s last came in 1982 in Class A.
Presley Brown paced Devils Lake with 15 points and 6 rebounds. With the loss by the Firebirds, we’ll have a new state champ in girls basketball in Division A.
Devils Lake plays South Prairie-Max for third place on Saturday at 3 p.m.
