Thompson advances to Region 2A championship over Devils Lake 65-53

The Thompson Tommies started fast with a 9-0 run to begin the game with Addison Sage leading the way in pace and scoring. Devils Lake fought back quickly with Tylie Brodina’s two first quarter three point make. The game stayed between tied and 6 points for nearly 3 quarters with the teams always staying in touch, but Devils Lake never took the lead. Kya Hurst led the Tommies in the second half, bullying her way to the basket with strong takes. Thompson iced the game at the free throw line late and got critical stops to seal it.

Devils Lake will play Four Winds-Minnewaukan for 3rd place and a state qualifier opportunity Thursday night.
Thompson will play Carrington for the Region 2A championship shortly after.
