VB Thief River Falls 3 at Fosston 0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-22)

The Thief River Falls Prowlers defeated the Fosston Greyhounds in straight sets Monday night at the Fosston Gym. The Prowlers closed the first set on a 11-4 run to win 25-16. The Prowlers never trailed in the second set to win 25-14.The Greyhounds had a 14-10 lead in the third set but Thief River Falls rallied to win 25-22. Ava Waldal led the Prowlers with 11 kills and 5 service aces. Taylor Berg and Marley Anderson each added 9 kills for Thief River Falls as they improve to 17-8 overall. Lexi Mahlen and Ava Hayes each recorded 5 kills for Fosston as the Greyhounds fall to 10-12 overall. Teagan Duppong and Sofia Rue each had 4 kills for Fosston. Fosston won the “B” Squad match 2-0 and the Greyhounds also won the “C” Squad match 2-0. The six Fosston seniors were honored prior to the match. Reese Wedin, Taylinn Spicer, Skye Balstad, Sofia Rue, Brenna Hoefler and Teagan Duppong were recognized prior to the start of the match. The Greyhounds will close the regular season with a match at Fertile-Beltrami on Tuesday, October 15th (1480-AM/99.7 FM). The Prowlers will also end their regular season on Tuesday, October 15th when they host the Warroad Warriors.
