Thompson at Ada-Borup-West

The Thompson Tommies built a large lead early after halftime and then withstood a surge from the Ada-Borup-West Cougars for the 65-55 win. Both teams would start slow and struggle with turnovers in the opening minutes, the Tommies were able to knock down back-to-back three-pointers to start gaining offensive momentum and had a 21-8 lead midway through the first half. Both teams then started to settle in and traded baskets over the final eight minutes before halftime for a 37-22 Thompson advantage at the break. After halftime the Tommies quickly scored six points in the first 90 seconds and had a 43-24 lead.  The Cougar defense upped their pressure and pushed the pace to then come back in the contest. A 20-7 run by the Cougars brought the game down to a two possession contest, and they were able to make it a 57-53 game with roughly three minutes to play. Thompson would effectively balance patient offense with quality defense down the stretch to not allow the Cougars to gain any more ground as the lead expanded to the 65-55 final score.

Thompson improves to 8-9 overall and will host East Grand Forks on Thursday night. Ada-Borup-West falls to 12-11 and will play at Hawley on Thursday.

Thompson also wins the C-Team game (74-37) and JV Game (61-46).
