Thompson 69, Watford City 53

Kya Hurst scored 26 points on 11 of 15 shooting as Thompson defeated Watford City 69-53 in the State Class A Girls Basketball Tournament Thursday night at Minot State University.

The Tommies saw an eight point first quarter lead disappear in the second quarter as Watford City went on an 11-0 run to take their first lead 25-23.  Thompson regained the advantage, going up 35-31 at the half and extending that lead throughout the second half.

Hurst added a team high 12 rebounds for Thompson (23-0), with teammates Addison Sage adding 17 points and Sydney Schwabe 15.

Jessica Mogen led Watford City with 26 points, as the Wolves fall to 18-8 on the season.  They’ll play in the consolation round Friday afternoon.

Thompson will play South Prairie-Max in the semifinals Friday night with an approximate 8:15 start on YourLiveEvent.com
