The Hillsboro/Central Valley defense forced five takeaways and kept the Valley City Hi-Liners from reaching the endzone for a 28-0 Homecoming night win. The Burros first found the endzone in the second quarter after an interception gave them a short field for Sawyer Owens first rushing Touchdown of the night from five-yards out. Owens would score again in the quarter to cap off an 80-yard drive and build a 14-0 lead with just over two minutes remaining in the first half. The Hi-Liners threatened to cut into the lead with their two-minute offense getting down to the 2-yard line with 30 seconds remaining. On the next play the Burros forced and recovered a Hi-Liner fumble to end the opportunity and keep the game 14-0 at halftime. The second half had the Burro defense taking the ball away three more times with their offense finding the endzone twice more, on Owens 3rd rushing Touchdown of the night and a Tyson Leshuk to Chase Haffley 20-yard catch and run, for the eventual 28-0 win.

The Burros are now 4-2 overall and will host Sargent County next Friday night. The Hi-Liners fall to 2-4 overall and will go on the road to EEK next week.
