Huskies earn character-building win in Casselton 54-48

Brian Watson’s young Huskies squad took the floor in Central Cass after a couple close losses that he attributed to loss of composure, which is understandable when your backcourt contains two kids in Jr. High and your leading scorer is a Sophomore.

Tonight, the Squirrels and Huskies remained tied at the half and 3rd quarter breaks, always within striking distance. Kenley Haug and Liv Siverson led the way for Central Cass, combining for 30 points, but 7th Grader Ashlynne Max came up with a steal and euro-stepped her way to the go-ahead layup at 50-48 and Claire Woods added a patented mid-range jumper to ice the game.

Woods led the way with 21pts and a double-double, Piper Nelson orchestrated a mature team offense with 16pts, and Ashlynne Max’s 8pts closed the deal for the Huskies.

Wahpeton improves to 3-4 (2-1), Central Cass falls to 4-4 (1-3)
