Recap

The Pillager Huskies built a 33-6 lead, scoring on five of their six offensive drives in the first half. With an already stout lead, the Huskies put the seal on the game early as with 20 seconds left in the first half, Derek Hoglin blocked a W-H-A punt that was recovered for a touchdown by Christian Hooge and Pillager went into the half in control 39-6.

Hoglin and Hooge each scored a rushing touchdown along with Brayden Berent, Grant Grimsley and Thomas Niggeler. Hooge also found a wide open Justin Anderson for a 2-yard score.

The turning point was in the first quarter. Pillager led 6-0 and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley was driving the field with a spread passing attack. In the red zone, Dru Hutchison jumped in front of a pass and returned to the Wolves’ 5-yard line setting up the second score, and the Huskies never looked back.

W-H-A was held to 154 yards of offense as the Huskies rolled to 47-6 win, going to 4-1, 3-1 in the Mid-Northwest Central District. The Wolves fall to 1-4 (1-3).

Pillager hosts Pine River-Backus next week, with a 6:30pm pregame show on CASH 95.9, rjbroadcasting.com and on the CASH 95.9 app.
