Warren-Alvarado-Oslo vs. Fertile-Beltrami

Fertile-Beltrami advanced to the Section 8A boys basketball quarterfinals Thursday with a 66-55 victory over Warren-Alvarado-Oslo at the University of Minnesota-Crookston.

Warren-Alvarado-Oslo jumped to an 8-0 lead and was in front 19-14 when Fertile-Beltrami went on a 17-2 run to take a 10 point lead at 31-21.  The Ponies cut the deficit to 40-35 at halftime.

The Falcons held that lead in the second half and went on to a 66-55 win.

Drew Gullickson led Fertile-Beltrami (25-3) with 18 points, while Steven Sather added 14 and Bryer Strem and Connor Haaven scored 11 apiece.

Kyden Botrba led WAO (12-15) with 22 points and Ethan Ellerbusch added 13.

Fertile-Beltrami will face Northome-Kelliher Saturday at 3:30 at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Thief River Falls.
