Clearbrook, MN — The Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears beat the Win E Mac Patriots 81-69 to snap their three game losing streak and give them win number nine of the season.

The Bears opened up a 10-4 lead early in the first half before Win E Mac went on an 8-0 run to take the lead 12-10. Both teams traded baskets for most of the first half and the deficit never grew to be more then a handful of points until there was about two minutes to go in the half and the Bears would push their lead to six points at 38-32 heading into the locker room.

In the second half Clearbrook-Gonvick outscored Win E Mac 17-9 in the first five minutes to take a commanding fourteen point lead 55-41. That deficit would be the Patriots set back in the second half as a combination of cold shooting and poor free throw percentage kept them down by ten plus points for most of the second half. Win E Mac did trim the deficit to 69-62 late in the game but Clearbrook-Gonvick would go on an 8-0 run to pull away and eventually win 81-68.

Clearbrook-Gonvick is now 9-4 on the season and will play at Sacred Heart next Tuesday. Win E Mac falls to 5-11 with Friday night’s loss and will play at Climax/Fisher on Monday.
