Oklee, MN –– Red Lake County Central’s service prowess powers them to their second win and second sweep of the season (25-15, 25-18, 25-18). The Mustangs tallied 16 total aces in their win over Win-E-Mac to improve to 2-1 on the season and 2-0 at home and spoil the Patriots season opener.

All 3 sets started in close affairs, but Red Lake County Central was able to close out all 3 sets on big runs, which included a 11-5 run in the first, a 10-3 run in the second, and a 13-3 run in the third.

The Mustangs were led by Keanna Landrus (7 kills, 6 aces), Alexa Chervestad (7 kills, 4 aces), and Aubrey Halverson (5 kills, 3 aces).

Macie Haskett led the Patriots with 5 kills coming off the bench.

Both teams are back in action on Thursday. Red Lake County Central will be on the road to take on Stephen-Argyle. Win-E-Mac will host Fertile-Beltrami in their home opener.
