The Win-E-Mac Patriots used a pair of 11-0 runs to help lead them to the 75-58 win at Plummer on Monday night. Ryan Kangas recorded a double double for the Patriots with 14 points and 22 rebounds. Justin Courneya led Win-E-Mac in scoring with 35 points as the Patriots end the regular season with an overall record of 15-11. Courneya is four points shy of scoring his 2,000th career point as a junior. The Patriots end the regular season having won nine of their last eleven games. Jonas Spry added 10 points for Win-E-Mac. The Rebels were led by Owen Chervestad with 16 points as Red Lake County ends their regular season at 13-13. Gerald Melin added 15 points and Chase Nelson scored 11 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for Red Lake County. Win-E-Mac took the lead for good at 10-7 and led 37-31 at halftime. Red Lake County won the “B” Squad game 70-53 and the Rebels also won the “C” Squad game 39-35. Both teams will open up tournament play next week with the Section 8A Tournament brackets being released on Saturday, March 4th.
