Clearbrook-Gonvick 3-0 win over Win E Mac (25-16, 25-16, 25-12)

Clearbrook, MN — The Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears showed off a forceful offensive attack in their 3-0 win over the Win E Mac Patriots on Tuesday night.

Set 1 was close early seeing Clearbrook-Gonvick hold a 4-3 advantage but the Bears would use a 7-0 run from that point to go up 11-4, and Win E Mac could never regain the advantage and Clearbrook-Gonvick would win set one 25-16.

Set 2 saw Win E Mac snatch every bit of momentum scoring the first seven points of the set. However, despite it being just the first game of the season, Clearbrook-Gonvick didn’t roll over and would outscore Win E Mac 25-9 erasing the seven point deficit and securing a 25-16 set two win.

Set 3 was all Clearbrook-Gonvick as the Bears rode the momentum after their first two set wins. Senior Allison LaVine and Junior Emma Fawver led the attack for the Bears in the set that eventually led to the 25-12 win and 3-0 match victory.

Clearbrook-Gonvick starts the season 1-0 and will be at Bagley next Tuesday. For Win E Mac they start 0-1 and will host Blackduck at 1:30 pm this Thursday.
