Farmers Union & Bureau talks Farm Bill 

Representatives from the Minnesota & North Dakota Farmers Union and Farmers Bureau took to the stage at Big Iron last week and held discussions on the Farm Bill, which recently passed in the Senate Agriculture Committee, and will now head to the Senate floor, where it will face an uphill battle. ND Farmers Union Representative Matt Perdue tells us how optimistic he is on a bill being passed by the end of the year. 

Anne Schwagerl of the MN Farmers Union says the hope is that the bill will get done by the end of the year, as they wouldn’t need to start from scratch due to a likely leadership change in the House or Senate. 

Carolyn Olson of Minnesota Farm Bureau shared similar sentiment, but said it would be best to get a bill signed before election in November.
