Feeding Our Future Fraud Found In Pelican Rapids & Moorhead

The Feeding Our Future fraud scandal that has seen millions of dollars stolen has reached into west central Minnesota.  36-year-old Abdirashid Bixi Dool is facing federal charges of wire fraud and money laundering for allegedly stealing more than a million dollars through fake sites in Pelican Rapids and Moorhead.  According to the indictment, Dool and an unnamed conspirator ran two non-profits.  One of the non-profits allegedly served six thousand meals a day, seven days a week.  That’s more than double the population of Pelican Rapids.  Dool also turned in fraudulent invoices for food purchases and fake rosters of children who were being fed.  According to the indictment, Dool and the conspirator laundered most of the money to themselves and their families….with Dool using most of the money for travel and buying real estate in Minnesota.  Dool is the 78th person charged in the Feeding Our Future scandal.
