Fertile City Council Meeting
FERTILE, MN—
Monday’s Fertile City Council meeting was the quietest in several months…with no shouting matches between the audience and council members. The Council appointed Cheryll Reitmeier, Cynthis Hibbard and Roger Narlock to the Fair Meadow Nursing Home Advisory Board, joining Dennis Hanson and Carol Swenby, who had been appointed earlier, and two City Council members.
It was also reported that Kalie Crayton will be the interim administrator at Fair Meadow and that she will be paid by Health Dimensions Group of Minneapolis, which is leading the search for a permanent administrator.
Monday’s meeting was also broken up for about 45 minutes while the City Council met in closed session with attorney Kendra Olson about the City of Fertile’s litigation strategy for its pending legal action in Polk County Court regarding Angie Leiting’s removal as Fair Meadow Nursing Home administrator.
Fertile City Administrator Lisa Liden also gave an update on the Community Center project, saying the project’s completion date has been extended to March 15 of next year because the HVAC units won’t be available until early 2024.
