Fertile City Council Meets, Sets Preliminary 2024 Levy
FERTILE, MN—Monday night, the Fertile City Council approved a preliminary budget for 2024, as well as a preliminary levy increase. Fertile City Administrator Lisa Liden talks about the levy.
The levy increase and budget for 2024 will become official at the Fertile City Council’s December meeting. In other business, the Council approved an amendment to Fertile’s special vehicle ordinance—which allows golf carts, ATVs and other similar vehicles to be driven on city streets.
There was no discussion of a lawsuit filed by former Fair Meadow Nursing Home administrator Angie Leiting against the City of Fertile, Mayor Dan Wilkens and Fair Meadow Nursing Home. But a memo was presented to the Council asking that the Fair Meadow Nursing Home Advisory Board be re-established along with letters from six people interested in serving on the Advisory Board. The Council took no action on this memo.
