First Free Parks Day of 2024 scheduled for January 15
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources have released their schedule for the 2024 Free Parks Day, with the first one scheduled for January 15. Free Parks Day is when the Minnesota DNR waives the requirement for a vehicle permit at state parks and recreation areas, giving Minnesotans a free of charge opportunity to experience the parks and recreation areas at different times of the year.
While it may be cold outside Minnesota State Parks have plenty of recreational activities to take part in. Lake Bemidji State Park is one of the many Minnesota State Parks that will be celebrating Free Parks Day and Park Manager Shannon Bungart highlights some of the activities people can take part in during the winter months.
In total there are four Free Park Days scheduled for 2024 and they are on.
- Monday, Jan. 15
- Saturday, April 27
- Saturday, June 8
- Friday, Nov. 29
