Fischbach Protests Walz’s Red Dye Diesel Ban
Last week, President Trump signed an executive order encouraging states to allow highway vehicles to use red dye diesel. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz isn’t going along with the President’s advice. That led Minnesota 7th District Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach to write a letter to Governor Walz. The letter calls on Walz to rethink his decision and go along with other states to lower diesel costs for Minnesota farmers, truckers and drivers. Red dye diesel is untaxed and costs less than regular diesel, which saves about $60 per tankful. North Dakota is allowing the use of red dye diesel, but Minnesota is not. Fischbach says “President Trump provided a way to slash diesel costs, and Governor Walz chose partisan obstruction over lower costs.” Minnesota DFL State Senators Rob Kupec of Fargo and Aric Putnam of St. Cloud are also encouraging Walz to change his mind on using red dye diesel
