Fosston City Council Holds Regular Monthly Meeting
The Fosston City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, September 11th. City Administrator Cassie Heide announced the awarding of the small cities development grant where homeowners who previously applied will be asked to fill out an application for up to $2500 toward home improvements. Director of Public Works Steven Lyseng reported that work is still being done on Johnson Avenue through 6th street with a re-routing of traffic. Lyseng also reported that the Blue city lights are being replaced and Natural Gas services will be completed this week. Fosston Chief of Police Dustin Manecke reported 162 calls last month with 77 calls currently for the month of September. Barb Johnson, Bonnie Stewart and Heidi Danos were in attendance and provided an update on the Firefly Center for Art and Wellness. They reported that the Firefly Center will begin construction in October and is looking for community support and volunteers to help open the center. The City Council also approved Employee Health Insurance for 2024 per recommendation of the Personnel Committee. The next Fosston City Council meeting is scheduled for October 9th at 7:00 pm.
