Fosston & Essentia Health Ordered To Arbitration

FOSSTON, MN—A Polk County District Court judge has ordered the City of Fosston’s dispute with Essentia Health should go through the arbitration process.  The City, which owns the Fosston Hospital, has been in dispute with Essentia since 2022…when Essentia removed labor and delivery service from Fosston.  Now the nearest place to deliver a baby for Fosston residents is in Detroit Lakes–60 miles away.

Landsverk tells R&J News an arbitration panel must be chosen before any hearings can take place.  She says that could come late this year or early in 2027.  You can see Judge Remick’s order on the City of Fosston’s website and on the Polk County website.
