Fosston Police Department encouraging residents to be vigilant of scams

Scams have unfortunately become a weekly occurrence in many people’s lives, as scammers are always coming up with new ways to scam you out of your hard earned money. Fosston Police Chief Phil Juve says everyone needs to be aware of scams, as they can happen to anyone. 

Juve says one thing that can protect from falling victim to a scam is by never giving out your personal information, whether it be over the phone or in an email. 

Juve also encourages you to report all scams to your local law enforcement office, as they can help get the word out to the rest of your community. 

If you believe you have fallen victim to a scam, immediately contact your personal bank or credit union.
